PAUL POWELL II

Hi! My name is Paul, and I'm an animator. I'm a graduate of Michigan State University, where I was thrilled to be part of an outstanding video game design and development program that was consistently ranked among the top ten by The Princeton Review during my years as a student. The summer before my final year at MSU, I was also very lucky to be hired as an animator for the Games for Entertainment and Learning (GEL) Lab. At the GEL Lab, I worked closely with teams to publish three titles for very diverse clients, gathering a full year of invaluable professional experience. Combining GEL, student, and passion projects, I have currently been a part of shipping 11 games, and I am always excitedly looking for the next opportunity to work on another! I have an enormous passion for video games and storytelling, and have always been captivated by games' unique and incredible potential to make players think, feel, and learn such a wide spectrum of things. It's my dream to lead the next great expeditions in the advancement of video games as an artistic medium, and to inspire my future game-making successors the way my brilliant predecessors have inspired me.

Best of Show:
MSU Game Dev Showcase 2017

Every spring, The MSU Game Development program hosts a showcase event where the instructors choose the best student-made games to demo on a show floor, open to staff, students, and the public. After everyone wanders the show room floor playing games, votes are cast for several categories. This year, my (excellent) team and I won "Best in Show" for our VR title, VRchery
